Marvelousness
So today was full to the brim with marvelousness. I slept in late, had all variety of strange dreams, and woke up feeling good. I made valentines for Sarah and Adrienne (and burned myself on my heat tool- ouchies), and then went over to Nick and Tristan's. I finally got to meet Ruthi. I was kind of suspicious of their relationship just because the age difference is so huge, but Tristan and Ruthi seem to have a lot of fun together. We went to the pet store to meet Bear, which is what Nick has named the black Chow-Chow puppy there that he has fallen in love with. Bear is like an adorable teddy bear! So very cute! oo,isawiddlepuppy! Anyway, that pet store is awesome- they have all sorts of saltwater fish, anemones and clams. I had no idea that clams were pretty! I am considering getting a betta fish. He could live on my desk.
Post petshop we went back to Nick and Tristan's, and Nick and I played Smash Brothers! I'd heard about its existence a thousand times from Mat, but he had never actually invited me to play, so this was my first time. It was pretty entertaining, and I was really excited when I was actually able to complete a level.
I lost track of time while playing video games, so I had to rush off to Casino Night for CS. It was pretty cool- I went out quickly in poker, and played really bad pool, but I had fun.
So after this it was back to Nick and Tristan's to pick up the two of them plus Ruthi and head to Cold Stone. We went and looked at the condos where N and T want to live next year, and then headed down to Tempe Town Lake to watch all the "dead bodies" floating by. It was really pleasant- I'd never been down there when there weren't thousands of people there before. I've always wanted to go down by the lake and take pictures of Mill Bridge and its reflection- I'm definitely going to have to go back soon to do so.
We headed back to N and T's, and Big T and Ruthi "retired", but I ended up sticking around and hanging out with Nick until 2:30.
Anyway, the summary of all this is: I had a really marvelously pleasant day. I hope you did too. Here's to repeat occasions: *clink!*
And a parting song lyric:
"Slow down you crazy child,
You're so ambitious for a juvenile
But then if you're so smart tell
me why
you are still so afraid?
Where's the ire, what's the hurry about?
You better cool it off before you burn it out
you got so much to do and only
So many hours in a day
But you know that when the truth is told
That you can get what you want
Or you can just get old
You're gonna kick off before you even get halfway through
When will you realize... Vienna waits for you..."
-Billy Joel "Vienna"
