Best Workout Ever (Times Dos)
So today was a glorious beginning to what I expect will be the most chill and possibly best Spring Break... ever. This is mostly because I have a week to get caught up on all the stuff I have to do, and I actually thus far seem to have the motivation to do it. Woohoo!
"What made this day so lovely?" I hear you ask. Well, it all began when I woke up to the sounds of my alarms around 10 am, and discovered that it was raining. I sighed contentedly and went back to sleep- who wants to ride to the gym in the rain, anyway? I thought I'd wait it out.
So... 12:30 rolled around, and I finally dragged my butt out of bed, fed myself, and read for a few hours. It was glorious. There was even chocolate icecream involved. After a few hours, however, I began to realize that I still had a good deal of energy, and a trip to the gym was in order despite the rain, or perhaps because of it. I relished riding in the rain (seriously, I was grinning), and then had the best workout ever. It was really weird; normally I do 35 min on the elliptical and am pretty tired at that point, and then go do my weight training. Today, however, I set it for 65 minutes, and despite the fact that I was going faster and at a higher resistance than I've ever gone/done before, I felt at the end of my hour like I could keep going indefinitely- my heart rate never got anywhere near as high as it normally does, and my blood pressure never got more than slightly higher than resting bp. My strength training was really easy for the most part, too. Sorry to bore ya'll with the details, but it was a really bizarre experience. I felt like my body was .... just working exactly as it should, I guess.
Anyway, even though my workout was easy for me and I haven't felt overtly tired since it, I still blame my excessive working out (and the fact that I never ate dinner) for the fact that I fell two or three times while swing dancing tonight. Yup, I fell. The most hilarious was when Eric (That's right, I went swing dancing with Eric tonight!) just tried a little too exuberantly to dip me just after he had whipped me back from a breakaway. He dipped me, but we both just kept going down... until we were both on the floor. Oh, but that was a proud moment. Oh my chickens. Oh, and that's to say nothing of the fact that I got to the Kats Korner incredibly late since I overshot it in the dark/rain and drove way the hell into Mesa... only to arrive at the place, approach it from the wrong side, walk almost all the way around the building through grass and puddles to find the entrace, realize that I didn't have any cash on me for the cover charge, and have to leave again to find an ATM, since I couldn't get Eric or Anthony's attention from the door. Oh, and I was freezing cold, wet, and had water-soaked satin high-heels with small puddles in them. Not that I'm complaining- I got to see more of Mesa, and it's really my own darn fault. Anyway, despite the various hilariously klutzy things I did (including somehow stepping on my own toe.... and very, very hard...) it was a fun night ^_^. After the swing ended I took Eric back to Anthony's house and we all watched a bit of a movie, before parting ways. This time Eric fulfilled the duties of bringing up that it was a fun night, that they'll call me again when they go dancing, and that he'll call me this week when and if he has free time. Thank God. After the last month of attempted romantic trevails I have so little patience I might have given up before much longer if he hadn't made a gesture of some sort. Not that this really means anything... but at least my pride is salved, and for a week I won't have to be wondering if I should call him or not.
The bad news is that tonight I ditched Anika, Eric, Sarah, and Tom. I suck. I feel really bad- if I do date Eric, it could rapidly become difficult to balance.
