Oh, the lack of productivty

Wow. So much has happened... not really. Wednesday we (Al, Don, Matt, and I) did indeed play tennis, and they kicked my butt... though not as much as might have been expected. Yay for not being a complete and utter klutz! It was super fun and we stayed out for about two hours. Whee!

Thursday was yet another go-to-the-gym day... as in that's all I did. Anika and I got indian food as usual, though, watched "Mystery, Alaska," and went out to McDuffy's with Matt, Al, Don, and technically with Don's sister Jill though she was pretty busy forming a posse of attractive young men to follow her around. Yay rah Thursday nights!

Friday was yet another go-to-the-gym day... as in that's all I did. Hensler, Al, Matt and I got dinner at the Phoenicea Cafe, and then went over to Matt's place for a rousing game of Pictionary in which we ladies got thoroughly smoked. I had to leave early though to rush back up to Mill.... Where I met Anika, Tom, and Eric2 to see X3. Huzzah for mutants, especially those played by Hugh Jackman. Hell, Huzzah for anyone played by Hugh Jackman. Afterwards Tom, Eric and I went to Casey Moore's, and Tom and I hung out with Sam, Ryan, and Levi. I love how they can be counted on to be out chilling at a bar every Friday and Saturday night.

Saturday was yet another go-to-the-gym day... as in that's all I did. (Are you sensing a theme to my life?) In the evening Anika and I went to swing at Kats Korner. It was a ton of fun, though there weren't many people there. It was a night of six degrees of separation, though; the first guy I danced with turned out to have gone to the University of Colorado, and to have danced at the Mercury Cafe! The next person I talked to was a woman who was sitting next to me and just suddenly asked, "Are you girls from Colorado?" Apparently the guy sitting to the other side of her had been the same one that parked next to us when we arrived, and had remembered that I had Colorado plates on my car. Weird. Anyway, it turns out that this woman also learned swing at the Mercury Cafe, and had found out about Kats Korner when she attempted to call Daniel and Tiffany (our teachers from Colorado) at their hotel wherever they're competing right now, and the phone in the room was answered by Dabney of the pair Dabney and Binkey, who are the teachers at Kats Korner! Crazyness, I tell you!

Anyway, as I said before there weren't that many people there, so Anika and I didn't do much dancing except with each other. We hung out a lot with Becca (who is Henry Carrejo's "guest instructor" at the Coffee Talk Cafe in Mesa) and her boyfriend Nick, who is a cool kid who does karate and wants to follow a college program (art + science) like mine except as a painting dentist. Jason, who we met first at the Coffee Talk at Spring Break, showed up, and he tried to outdo Henry for dancing with two of us at once, which was quite entertaining. Afterwards Jason, An and I went to Casey Moore's until closing. Jason's an entertaining kid- I think we may have obtained a new amici. A couple of swing songs came on at Casey's, but by the time we resolved that the next time one came on we'd hop up and dance, it was 1:30 and no more played before closing :-( We did witness my first barfight, though, which was positively thrilling! Shattered glass, splashing beer, and emo-indie rockers trying to throw punches at each other while still attempting to maintain tortured, passive-aggressive facades. Hilarious. I just couldn't take them seriously.

Anyway, it's Sunday, and today was going to be another go-to-the-gym day... but I might be getting a tennis lesson from Eric2 later, and I want to be in "top form," especially since my top form is equivalent to anyone else being near death.

So... I know that's a kind of dry synopsis of events... if you want to hear anything juicy, you should call me. :-P
